First, I cut out two large circles from the magnetic sheets to adhere to the back of the giant googly eyes I scored from Target.
I measured the width of the door and cut my table covering to fit. I just cut slits all the way across for my Frankenstein's hair. I used magnetic sheets even on the inside of the front door to help hold on the hair.
I decided on what type of face I wanted to create and cut the pieces out of my magnetic sheets too. I wanted the facial details to be white so they would stand out on my dark door (My door is actually a dark plum, although it looks black in the photo).
To achieve the white color, I just flipped the magnet around so the paper that covers the adhesive on the magnet sheet was showing.
Notes
Efficient Use of Magnetic Sheets: When attaching giant googly eyes to a surface, such as a door, use magnetic sheets for easy application and removal. Cut out large circles from the magnetic sheets to match the size of the googly eyes. This ensures a secure hold while also allowing for repositioning if necessary. Additionally, consider using magnetic sheets on both sides of the door to enhance stability, especially when adding additional decorations like "Frankenstein's hair."
Creative Door Decoration: Customize the plastic table cover to fit the width of your door and create a unique backdrop for your giant googly eyes. Cut slits across the table cover to resemble "Frankenstein's hair," adding a playful touch to your Halloween decor. Use magnetic sheets to secure the table cover to the door, providing a cohesive and visually appealing display.
Contrasting Facial Details for Visibility: When cutting out facial details from magnetic sheets, opt for a contrasting color, such as white, to ensure visibility against a dark door. Flip the magnet around so that the paper covering the adhesive side of the magnetic sheet is facing outward, creating a white surface for the facial features. This clever technique ensures that the facial details stand out prominently against the dark background, adding to the overall impact of the door decoration.
