Fill your bottle with the hydrogen peroxide. Add the baking soda and the dish soap.
Just kind of swish the spray bottle around (don't shake it). If you're not using a spray bottle, then gently stir the solution in a mixing bowl or container.
If you're dealing with furniture or upholstery, the spray bottle may be the best solution. If you're dealing with carpet or rugs, go for mixing the solution in a bowl and then soaking the affected area with the solution.
Notes
Ventilation is Key: When using hydrogen peroxide-based solutions, ensure proper ventilation in the area. Hydrogen peroxide can release oxygen gas, so avoid enclosed spaces to prevent the buildup of gas.
Spot Testing: Before applying the homemade odor eliminator to large areas, conduct a spot test on a small, inconspicuous area to ensure it doesn't cause any discoloration or damage to the surface.
Patience with Stains: For tougher stains or odors, allow the solution to sit on the affected area for a few minutes before blotting or rinsing. This gives the ingredients time to penetrate and break down the odor-causing molecules effectively.
