DIY Magic Erasers

Materials

  • Hot water in a bowl
  • Baking soda
  • Borax
  • Melamine sponge

Instructions

  • You'll begin with the bowl of hot water. You want to make sure the water is warm enough to dissolve the cleaning "ingredients." It doesn't have to be boiling, but it should be hot.
  • Go ahead and add the baking soda to the water and stir until dissolved.
  • Do the same with the Borax.
  • Now, grab a melamine sponge and soak it in the solution.
  • Wring it out and then start scrubbing!

Notes

  1. Safety Precautions: Handle Borax with care and avoid contact with skin or eyes. Use gloves and goggles if necessary, especially when handling the Borax powder or solution. Keep the solution away from children and pets.
  2. Sponge Handling: Melamine sponges are abrasive, so avoid using excessive pressure when scrubbing to prevent damage to delicate surfaces. Test the sponge on a small, inconspicuous area first to ensure it doesn't cause any scratching or damage.
  3. Storage: Store any leftover solution in a sealed container for future use. Label the container clearly and keep it out of reach of children and pets. Ensure proper ventilation when using and storing Borax to minimize exposure to fumes.
