Notes
Adjust Consistency to Preference: The texture of your lip scrub can greatly affect its usability and effectiveness. If you prefer a coarser scrub, you can use more sugar and less olive oil. Conversely, if you prefer a smoother consistency, increase the amount of olive oil. Experiment with the ratio of sugar to olive oil until you achieve the desired texture. Keep in mind that a lip scrub that's too dry may not exfoliate effectively, while one that's too oily may feel greasy on the lips.
Be Mindful of Food Coloring: While food coloring adds a fun and whimsical touch to your lip scrub, be mindful of the amount you use to avoid staining your lips. Start with a small amount of food coloring and gradually add more until you achieve the desired color intensity. Remember that a little goes a long way, especially with vibrant colors like blue and pink. Additionally, consider using gel food coloring for a more concentrated color and less risk of altering the texture of the lip scrub.
Store Properly to Maintain Freshness: To preserve the freshness and efficacy of your lip scrub, store it in a clean, airtight container away from moisture and direct sunlight. This helps prevent the sugar from dissolving prematurely and keeps the oils from going rancid. Keep the lip scrub in a cool, dry place, such as a bathroom cabinet or vanity drawer. Check the lip scrub periodically for any signs of spoilage, such as changes in odor or texture, and discard if necessary. With proper storage, your cotton candy lip scrub can last for several weeks, providing sweet and smooth lips with every use.
